What kind of identification shall you send us?

You have to send us a copy of your passport or Norwegian driver's licence. We also accept national ID cards issued by an EEA country, a Norwegian alien's passport (blue passport) and a Norwegian travel document for refugees (green passport).The identification papers have to be valid. Make sure that the copies are readable and of good quality.

Proxy from heirs. You can choose a proxy by filling in and attach a power of attorney which can be found here.

If the grant of probate has not been received, only bills deemed as necessary for the estate handling can be debited. Such as expenses related to the funeral (coffin, grave, ceremonies, fees, but not memorial services, tomb stone), phone, electricity, rent, overdue insurance for real estate, but not taxes and fees.

If it is not clear what the invoice consists of, you have to send a specified invoice. It is important that all invoices are signed by the recipient.

When the grant of probate have been received, Danske Bank can pay all bills. It is important that each invoice sent is signed by a proxy. If the estate is under joint governance, debits have to have written consent from all heirs.

Please note that there will be charged a fee of NOK 40 per invoice. Alternatively you can pay the invoices yourself, and ask the bank to refund from the deceased's account.

When selecting the options "Transfer amount" or "close account" you have to attach a written approval signed by all heirs or proxy.

When the approval is signed, you can either scan or take a photo with your mobile phone.
